INGREDIENTS
1 loaf French baguette
1 stick butter or ½ cup olive oil
1 tablespoon Garlic paste (homemade or purchased…I use the Amore brand garlic paste in a tube. I buy it at Bamber’s Superette in South Bend.
1 tablespoon dried Parsley flakes
Kosher salt (optional)
Slice French baguettes into ¼” pieces (slice on the diagonal)
DIRECTIONS
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine ½ cup unsalted butter (or olive oil), 1 rounded tablespoon garlic paste (Amore brand, comes in tube and is salted, so do not add salt to butter) and 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes in a bowl. Melt butter mixture on stovetop or in microwave…olive oil is ready to go and does not need to be liquefied.
Place baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush generously with garlic butter (oil) mixture. If you want the flavor of the baguettes to be more assertive, sprinkle very lightly with kosher salt. I think they are fine as is.
Place baking sheet with brushed baguettes into 400 degrees oven, on a middle rack, and bake for 15-20 minutes…until toasted but not burning!!...so check after 15 minutes.
