See the Jewish Federation’s Spring Art Exhibit titled “Todd Hoover: His Journey Through Art,” showcasing the captivating work of the South Bend, Indiana based artist.
This unique exhibition features Hoover’s innovative mixed media creations; sculpted ceramic faces adhered to old photographs, coloring book pages, and more, each piece informed by the artist’s personal story. In addition to his mixed media, the exhibition will also highlight Hoover’s talent in creative photography.

About Todd Hoover
Todd Hoover earned his B.S. in Art Education from Indiana University Bloomington in 1968 and an M.F.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1973. He taught drawing and photography at Riley High School and Indiana University South Bend. In 1999, he received a Lilly Endowment Education Grant to study non-silver photography and is a member of the Northern Indiana Artist Association.
Hoover has exhibited widely in juried shows and solo exhibitions at venues like the South Bend Museum of Art and Indiana University South Bend. He transitioned to digital photography in 2010, initially finding it challenging. By 2012, he focused on nature photography, and in 2013, he enlarged photos of toys and figurines. From 2014 to 2015, he created bird images and birdhouses using “Paint-by-Number” strips. He returned to the darkroom in 2016, experimenting with unique patterns, and incorporated high contrast stripes in 2016-2017. By 2018-2019, he was creating socially themed triptychs. His latest series, “cute little faces,” features vintage doll heads. Hoover’s passion for new subjects and techniques continually expands his work.
