An Update on Sergeant Shiloh Tor
Avishalom Tor provides insight into the needs of Sergeant Tor's IDF unit.
If you were able to join us on Sunday, August 11th to hear Sergeant Shiloh Tor's firsthand account of his IDF service in the Gaza War, you know just what a capable, courageous, and commendable young man he is. Thank you to Sergeant Tor, his mother and father, Deborah & Avishalom, and our Federation community for showing support for Shiloh and his unit in this time of great need.
The community’s generous donations, along with those from other friends and relatives of our warriors, have already enabled the purchase of critical equipment for Shiloh’s company. This includes a powerful field generator, a large drone with thermal vision for night security and operations, two smaller drones for daytime overwatch, and four mobile cooling units for the APCs. However, there are many additional needs. Equipment frequently breaks due to the harsh conditions, and new needs constantly arise. Therefore, all donations, big and small, will be invaluable for the foreseeable future.
To ensure contributions are received, donors are encouraged to use this PayPal link to the account of Shiloh’s father, Professor Avishalom Tor. For those wishing to make larger, tax-deductible donations, a solution has been arranged through Rabbi Hendel of Chabad in Baka. Donors should select the “donate to IDF” option and include a note specifying “for the Shaked operational company” to ensure the funds are directed appropriately.
